Chances are you may already seen, know, read or even fap to 177013. That number seems posted on whatever comment section out there on Internet, which links you to NHentai page of the aforementioned doujin. But do you know that this Fakku debacle actually led to the popularity rise of that site?

The site originally created in response to the tedious work one had to do in order for downloading the eromanga at Sad Panda - playing its text-based RPG to collect Gallery Points (GP) then use GP to download the eromanga you want. Not to mention Sad Panda already started to delete few of the gallery file, albeit not so many before Fakku debacle happened.

PANDA RESTORATION PROJECT
i've noticed a lot of people seem to be having trouble saving from sadpanda, and are resorting to page-by-page saving, which is obviously not ideal.
since the shitstorm happened I have devised a method that allows for simplified BATCH DOWNLOADING that I think needs to be shared with all of you to expedite the process.
WHAT YOU NEED:
> downthemall
> nhentai website
> http://onlinetexttools.com/Generate-List-of-Sequential-Numbers.html
> an open notepad txt file
A lot of the galleries that are missing from sadpanda seem to still be up on nhentai.
nhentai conveniently stores all their gallery jpgs by "1-2-3-4.jpg"
for example:
http://i.nhentai.net/galleries/457850/1.jpg
http://i.nhentai.net/galleries/457850/2.jpg
http://i.nhentai.net/galleries/457850/3.jpg
This allows us to use the above sequential number website along with any nhentai gallery image url to create a batch download for downthemall to execute.
THE METHOD
> right click - copy image location on any thumnail for any nhentai gallery
> paste result MINUS jpg bit on sequential numbers page
> add ".jpg" after numbers
> ex: "http://i.nhentai.net/galleries/457850/"; + ### + ".jpg"
> enter number of images in the gallery
> generate list of numbers and paste into blank .txt file
> import .txt file into downthemall
> use "*inum*.*ext*" to save images with a clean 001, 002, 003 etc naming
WARNING: some galleries have PNG files which give you 404 error
this can be solved by simply replacing all ".jpg" with ".png" on your txt file and re-importing the batch into downthemall
godspeed friends, happy saving
with a little bit of practice you can save a gallery every 30 seconds

The side history of the purgatory of /a/nons' favorite Alexandria Library of Hentai Doujin and Manga, E-Hentai.

What is Sad Panda actually? What happened to its gallery being purged?

Note: The timeline for this section will be referred to July, 2014.

To put in simple terms, up until now there were almost no eromanga that got translated into English (or other languages). This is the main, constant issue as with all other "pirated" Japanese media, hentai or not. Works are never translated, fans (had to) take up the mantle and translate it themselves, creating a market. That's where E-Hentai (called "sadpanda" by anons over /a/) comes, i.e a website that hosts thousands - if not millions - of user-uploaded eromanga, translated or not; ranging from quick-read quick-fap doujins up to full-sized tankoubon. What do you want to read and fap to, chance are they already been uploaded to Sad Panda gallery.

That is the thing, until Fakku recently acquired rights to translations from a Japanese eromanga publisher, Wanimagazine. Wanimagazine has targetted Sad Panda, with takedown notices and are forcing them to delete fan-translated eromanga from artists that Wanimagazine publishers for, and possibly even eromanga to which they do not have rights to i.e only created by artists who work under Wanimagazine, but not published by Wanimagazine itself. Along with this frustration, large portions of the Community that contributes to and reads eromanga on E-hentai are furious that 'Sadpanda' is even being told to delete eromanga with questionable copyright claims, or face having to be involved in legal action.

/a/non's anger and little excerpt of Fakku's origin

Some would think it's only the inability to obtain the content is what pisses off /a/nons, but there's more to it. What really pisses /a/ off is that: for those who don't know, Fakku also originally started as a site that 'illegally' hosted fan translated eromanga and only recently (around 2014) decided to become 'legal', buying the rights to some of those translations. Now they are basically using their allies in Japan to get a competitive advantage in the English-speaking community by also targeting series they "might like to buy" even though they do not own the rights to them.

Added confusion

With that being said, /a/nons didn't know if the cause of this problem is only Wanimagazine or if Fakku themselves are involved. Fakku has stated that they are not involved with the conflict but they have no evidence against it aside from their word.

>1) What exactly is going on?

Wanimagazine seems to have sent Sadpanda some extra takedown notices resulting in deleted galleries.

>What roles exactly do Jacob and Wani play in this whole thing?

Wani sent out takedown notices a good while back on their own to various sites, including both FAKKU and Sadpanda. The latter hid some of the galleries in the secret secret club, while Jacob (creator of the former) got in touch with Wani about working together. This resulted in the publishing deal FAKKU got with Wani.

Wani most likely sent those extra takedown notices because Sadpanda didn't actually delete things, just hid them from some people. Neither FAKKU nor Jacob was involved in the whole thing as FAKKU only cares about its own legit releases as far as takedowns are considered (and there have been none yet).

FAKKU books won't have any DRM in digital downloads. The contract allows them to do that, and that's what FAKKU is going to do.

Of course, that only applies for individual titles that you buy - if there's a catalog rental model that you can subscribe to ala Netflix, CR, etc, that'll restrict you to online-only reading with no DRM-free downloading. But nothing's going to stop you from doing both, rent the catalog for general usage, buy individual titles from artists you really like.

>>111027141

The context for that is that I've been talking with Jacob a lot ever since the announcement of the Wani deal, because I'd really like for FAKKU to do things properly and realize the potential the deal has. I'm not being paid anything at this point, but feel free to consider me an unofficial FAKKU PR person regardless.

>Jacob has said the digital versions will likely be between $7-9.

Yeah, this is the same figure he gave me when we were talking about pricing a while back. I'd say it sounds about right for those 200+ page books, but could go quite a bit lower too for shorter content (though I'm not sure how much of that you're going to find in the Wani catalog).

No one has rights to any doujins, including the artists that made them

I don't know who to believe.

>Well, I'm pretty mad, too, because FAKKU is absolute shit in all fields.

I considered FAKKU to be pretty useless too, because sadpanda exists. Well, I still consider it pretty useless right now because nothing has really changed yet, but the Wani deal has absolutely enormous potential. FAKKU has all the cards to build an incredible service, and if those cards are played right the result should be pretty amazing. And it'll be available for everyone capable of paying since the deal is worldwide, so there will be no fucking region lock bullshit involved.

Guys, I think that Jacob is being jewed by the nips. I don't think he's a liar. I think he's a fucking idiot.

This. Wani just took advantage of their relationship with him and are passing these take-down notices to every English site they can. Jacob can pick up the remains of the market with his officially licensed stuff, but the whole point is to eradicate the illegal translation and scanning groups. They think it's more money for them, not Fakku.

I actually think they lied to him, and told him that they were giving more money to the artists than they were, and he didn't read the contract carefully because he's retarded.

hey guys, I was getting really tired of exhentai's shit, so me and my buddy decided to make a new reader site. we've got most all of ex's english/japanese manga and doujins, its completely open, you dont have to post on a faggy forum or mine for pony points to unlock basic features(you can have as many favorites as you want, all thumbs are displayed on the same page), and we have a download feature coming soon. best of all it isnt run by an obnoxious ponyfag.

come check it out and tell me what you think: http://nhentai.net/
