Being some sadcase middle management boomer with enough for a Rolex but not enough for fast cars, mansions, holidays to places so exotic no English speaker knows how to pronounce them, is a tryhard and delusional and both gold diggers and your fellow employees will all laugh at you.

Here's a question/fa/ggots: Why would I buy a watch when I have a perfectly working smartphone that can tell the time along with all the other stuff it can do?

You're right. From an utilitarian point fo view, office dwellers don't need watches. People who don't have an easy access to their phone do, though. Like construction workers, people doing outdoors activities, etc. For them a cheap Casio will do the job. The only point of luxury watches is to flex on poor people or impress bitches. For that, Rolex will work 100% of the time because the only luxury brand that people know is Rolex.

Rolex owners at least get to think this is true when spending $10,000 on a watch, the reality is that no one cares about your watch because people (other than watch people) don’t go around looking at strangers’ wrists. If you’re aiming to snag a gold digger, it’s your lifestyle that matters to them because they want a rich lifestyle as well, the only way of flexing on poor people is to employ them and force them to use their skills to provide you with something to sell and get rich from while they’re just trying to survive.
