I'm rather convinced this is fictional, or at least semi-fictional. This seems like a slip-up:
>"Yeah. I used him to get away from the place, but he was old and creepy so I told him to leave. He said there was nothing but a restaurant by us so I told him my dad owned it." From the combined testimony of her and him, apparently they had been doing an outside activity, Erika managed to slip out, almost walked into the street, was found by Bill, and then escorted to my restaurant.
so if I understand correctly she just ran away, but she was wearing clothes that "were tattered, dirty, soaked, and it looked like she had been wearing them for quite some time (and she didn't smell like roses and candy either)", and this Bill didn't find it unusual?
