Definition[edit]
Ban evasion is the act of circumventing an imageboard or forum ban—typically by changing IP addresses, using VPNs, or exploiting network proxies—to continue posting.
Common Methods[edit]
- Connecting through a VPN or Tor exit node
- Resetting a dynamic IP (power‑cycling a router)
- Posting via mobile data or public Wi‑Fi
Consequences[edit]
Most sites treat ban evasion as a serious violation, often resulting in longer or permanent bans once detected.
