It was founded by niche internet microcelebrity Vinluv Anton Handesbukia<ref>[https://twitter.com/SVinluv Vinluv's Twitter Account]</ref> (AKA Vath) and web developer and system administrator Queddusyan<ref>[https://twitter.com/etaoinshrdluu Qued's Twitter Account]</ref> (AKA Qued).
Sidson.city was orignaly envisioned as a parody of Soyjak.party but has gradually developed a distinct culture of its own influenced by Vath's interests. Most notably, the site features discussions relating to Vath's own soyjak variant known as "Sidson" and the iconic film "''Le Fils Du Masque''" (Guterman, 2005)<ref>[https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0362165/ Son of the Mask IMDB Entry]</ref>.

The project contains numerous boards, websites, and (formerly) an Atomchat, with Vath having expressed interest in expansion into other domains. Currently, there are plans to launch a Xenforo forum, an official Sidson wiki, and a Pleroma instance.
